5 years ago today I left my job at Sequoia Services (Analysts International) out of frustration.

This is not any type of anniversary entry, but since the subject of past jobs has come up, I might as well vent my current experience. I worked with the host of this Blog for a short time, and I have to admit my last six months there he helped me keep my sanity, and I think we had a real good time; even considering who the employer was. So, I left that gig for the current one I’m in, basically doing nothing, so I guess I can’t bitch much. We’ve been hearing promises that we’re getting some help here at the main site in Midland, Michigan. See, there’s are only three of us to cover two shifts 24x7x365 in a facility that the client expects someone from our “technology company” to have 24x7x365 coverage. I find out on Monday they’re giving two of us a 3 ½ day notice before cutting us loose… WTF is this! Talk about throwing professional courtesy out the fricken window, but from what I’m hearing about this company no one shouldn’t expect anything less. I do believe they would require a two week notice from me if I were to split… right!?! Pricks… what can I say, but my wife seems to be taking the news better than me. She thinks it’s a blessing in disguise. Anyone that knows me knows I’ve been pitching a bitch for several days now. Come to find out right after the client was informed ;-) , I received a call thirty minutes later informing me that the cut-off date has been pushed back one month. They didn’t even have the courtesy to inform the client of this major change. There definitely needs to be a change at the top of this account, because she doesn’t have a fricken clue as to what she’s doing. When the client decides to kick this “technology company” to the curb as they did EDS, it’ll lie at the feet of our “fearless” leader. Come to find out the “technology company” pulled this stunt once before, and the client laid the SMACK down. This is perfect. The offers have been rolling in, since ironically I happened to update my resume on Monster the week before. I’ve got three real good prospects that would at the very least allow me to live back at home full time rather than gallivanting across the state every two weeks. When I decide on which gig I’m taking… do you think I’ll be giving my two week notice?

:-) Dude…long time since we talked. I’ll agree that we all helped maintain our sanity. Without you, the 2 C’s, J, D and L.C., I would have gone postal.

That sucks to hear about your latest gig. I’m sure D.M. would take you back…I mean that’s what he said when you left, right? ;-)

Good luck with new opportunities. I’ll keep my ear to the ground and will let you know if I hear of anything that fits your skillset.
