Too much to do and so little time

The past few days have been spent working in and around the house (when I'm not working of course).  This past Saturday, I had to mow the lawn.  I ended up cutting it a bit too short so I had grass clippings over the entire yard (about 1/2 acre).  I ended up raking up all the clippings which took more time than I would have liked.

After that, I did some work in my office.  It's been framed in for a couple of months and the electrical stuff has been roughed in.  I pulled a bunch of CAT5e/RG6, but still have more to do.  Our house has a total of 12 “outlets” with each containing 3 CAT5e ports and 1 RG6 port.  The CAT5e ports can double as phone lines, so it definitely gives us a lot of flexibility.  Anyway, my office is going to add another 5 outlets.

Landscapers were here on Monday and Tuesday doing some work.  Since our house is new (we had it built last year), the outside looks pretty plain.  The landscapers put a 3-foot wide border around most of our house.  Then they covered it with landscaping material (weed barrier), planted a bunch of plants and then covered the exposed weed barrier with river rock.  They brought in a total of about 5 tons of river rock, along with over 3 tons of top soil to fill in some low spots around the yard.  I took pictures, so I'll try to post some in the next couple of days.

After work tonight, the plan is to work on our flower garden and possibly my office.

Owning a house is great, but damn....it sure is a lot of work. :-)
