Ethical? I think not...

Read Mike Pope's blog this morning and found this.

This is a quote from the article:
”Says a programmer on Slashdot.org who outsourced his job: "About a year ago I hired a developer in India to do my job. I pay him $12,000 out of the $67,000 I get. He's happy to have the work. I'm happy that I have to work only 90 minutes a day just supervising the code. My employer thinks I'm telecommuting. Now I'm considering getting a second job and doing the same thing."”

WTF?  How can this guy think this is proper?  What is up with people?  Whatever happened to working hard?  What happened to personal responsibility?

I don't know what else to say about this. :-\

He's also probably breaking his employment agreement, unless the employee from India has his exact same qualifications. Also there is usually a clause in the agreement that says you can't perform another job while on your current job (which hiring the second programmer would do).

As for ethics, there are none in that! He should start a consulting firm if that's what he wants to do.
