Inkjet printer ink cartridges

I can think of no bigger scam than inket printer cartridges.  My wife and I just got back from the store where we spent over $60 for the two cartridges required by our photo printer (HP Photosmart 1215).  Considering that toner for my laser printer costs around $100 (and I get several THOUSAND pages out of that $100), I really have to wonder why it costs so much for inkjet ink.

Granted, we do print a lot of photos, but my guess is that's it's probably between 100 and 150 pictures before we need more ink and yes, I do understand that I use more ink when I print pictures, but c'mon...$30 for a color cartridge?  Maybe that's why the printers are so cheap...people will go to buy ink and realize it's cheaper just to buy a new printer. :-\
