Ya know...the word “hero” had been bandied about so much (especially since 9/11) that, IMO, it's lost some of its lustre. I mean c'mon...can you really consider Jessica Lynch a hero? It's been proven that she didn't fire a shot...anyway...that's neither here nor there.
Sgt. Rafael Peralta made the ultimate sacrifice to save his fellow Marines. He is truly a hero. Col. North's article shows how the media ignores stories like Sgt. Peralta in favor of stories like CPO3 Pablo Paredes (a coward who refused to board his ship for duty in the GWOT). I hope that POS sleeps well.
Something to think about as we sit in the comfort of our homes getting ready to spend time with our families for Christmas.
