It looks like we're headed back to Maryland this summer. We'll be taking the last week of June and driving down to visit my sister-in-law and her family again. We've already made some plans -- on July 1st, my brother-in-law and I will be at Gettysburg for day 1 of the 143rd anniversary of the 3-day battle. I'm really, really looking forward to this. Our visit to Gettysburg last year really sucked because a) it rained and b) it was late in the day and we missed a lot of stuff. I'd love to stay for all 3 days, but unfortunatley that's not gonna happen.
Anyway, it sounds like we'll be staying for the 4th of July as well. I'm not sure if we'll be in D.C. for the fireworks or not. Regardless, this time around, we're gonna try to spend more time in D.C. checking out stuff we missed last year (the Capital building, the Smithsonian, etc.) I'd also like to at least drive by the Pentagon, but hopefully get a tour while we're there. Unfortunately, our contact in the White House is no longer there, so we'll have to live the rest of our lives with just one tour in the White House (the West Wing). ;-)
