Christmas 2006

As many of us prepare to open presents and sit down with our families for Christmas dinner, everyone (regardless of your stance/political affiliation) should take a minute to think about the people that are defending this great country in places like Iraq, Afghanistan, Djibouti and many other places across the globe.

Take a minute to think about the sacrifice they’re making as well as the ultimate sacrifice many have made while protecting our interests around the world.  Tomorrow as I watch my kids open their presents and I sit down to eat
with my family, I *will* be thinking of my friend Wil and his fellow Marines who are on the sharp edge of the sword in Iraq.

So, keep our troops in your thoughts tomorrow (and every day) and have a very Merry Christmas.

Silly distraction

Blizzard released a major content patch this past Tuesday for World of Warcraft.  One of the changes was a new “loading” screen.

Here it is:

Ok, now look at the two female characters on the left side of the screen (here they are close up):

Am I the only one that thinks the top one looks like Madonna and the other looks like Courtney Love?

Anyway, each time I see the screen, I have to wonder what was going on in the artists’ mind when these were drawn.
